Review #138 – @localandaesthetic
- Blokes and Their Long Macs

Oscar Wilde once wrote that aestheticism is a search after the signs of the beautiful. Some would argue that the blokes’ search for Perth’s best long mac resembles such an aesthetic pursuit. With this quote and long macs on their minds, the blokes trundled on over to Mount Lawley to get a taste of what they are brewing up at Local & Aesthetic.
Vibes 🍃
From the exterior, Local & Aesthetic does not give the appearance of a cafe (let alone a top-tier brew dispensary). Indeed, one of the blokes walked straight past the heavy wooden doors of this spot. However, once pushing through said doors, a spacious area filled with families and coffee consumers was revealed. The fully open kitchen area was quite impressive, as was the shopping space offering practical trinkets and delicious treats galore. The blokes enjoyed sitting outside, where a pleasant veranda provided shade.
Taste 👅
A long time between sips of Wangara’s– Kaltiva Coffee Roasters. A balanced, sweet cup with a rich and velvety texture that really coats your mouth. Notes of baker’s chocolate, caramel and toffee, this brew doesn’t really have much acidity or complexity, but it does the job very well. Extracted perfectly on the day, hard to complain
Temperature 🌡
nice and toasty. blokes were happy with this one

it was alright. 4 love hearts for 4 blokes 💙
Today we were treated to damn well executed brews, and left feeling very content. Delicious bagels, well made coffee and cool local products on sale, we can certainly endorse that. Thanks L+A, you guys rock! Our trip to Local and Aesthetic was the perfect way to cap off an amazing weekend of coffee and community. We really appreciate all your support on Friday, it means the world to us x
